Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in TV and film is well known for movies like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only children to Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various television dramas by the time she turned 16. In the Oscar-nominated film Downfall the role she played as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also critically acclaimed. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra has been involved in numerous important international and national projects over the years. These comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as well as French historical miniseries Napoleon. She was also a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as and at the Cannes Film Festival.
