Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio left high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. Although she was struggling financially in 2001, her debut came in the role of Rachel's Room's primary character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich, in which she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 as well as sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) alongside her. Grace left the show in order to pursue a film career. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to her role as Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013, she was in the six-season of Californication. She portrays Faith, who is a fan and muse of the celebrities. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older sibling of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens her career began as a small part-time actress for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her an Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of in 2006. Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Crazy Heart, (2009). Then she was able to play in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Won't Back Down (12). The actress also appeared as a Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer as Frank (2014), a musician Frank (2014) and the lead role on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in 2018. The debut of Gyllenhaal as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
